Drift

A poem by Dominique

Drifting into the space

between dreams and reality

Opening up the mind

to unknown possibilities

Breaking the chains of slavery

freeing yourself with love

We ask ourselves questions

in the deep dark

Am I meant to live this way

or

should I surrender it all to you?

I choose submission

to the one true God.

Amen

Quietly I whisper my fears

To the Lord I give it all

My burden is nothing

Innocently I cry with faith

Hopeful of the future

My fear is nothing

Lonely I reach upwards

Inward I reach for the spirit

My reality is nothing

Honestly I try for love sake

Trying not to shake/break

My pain is nothing

Hopefully I teach love

Pouring into everyone

My life is nothing

Bringing the Love of Jesus to Seattle Pride

Hatred runs rampant in our country, infiltrating the hearts and minds of the people; if not combated hate will most certainly consume you. If not for love where would we be? Our homeland would be a dark place with no joy, no hope, and no peace.

The scripture I want to share with you and with everyone comes from 1 John.

Beloved, let us love one another because love is from God and everyone who loves is born from God and knows God. The person who doesn’t love does not know God, because God is Love.

1 John 4:7-8 new King James

My mission for pride was to spread the love of Jesus to a community that continues to feel judgement and hatred from the Christian community. I hand crafted these rainbows for the festival, attached, scriptures and handed them out all around Seattle yesterday. I talked to so many different people from various backgrounds and loved on my sister and her friends. The conversations I had were mostly pleasant and overall it was a very fun Sunday.

It breaks my heart that haters can spread their darkness and claim to be Christians. Jesus would be ashamed of this…

No No No NO NOOOO!!!!

A thousand times no.
Please stop this vileness.
God does not hate you! He loves every one of his children from the little innocent babies to the murderers and everyone in between. He despises sin… Which we all have. Including the men holding these signs.

During Jesus’ time there were thousands of religious laws that the leaders (not Jesus) enforced for fear of hell and damnation. But there is GOOD NEWS!!! God sent his beloved only child to this earth to form a new covenant… The past is left behind. Through His death and resurrection we are saved and made perfect in the Lord’s eyes so that when he looks at us he doesn’t see us or our sin but he sees his child on the cross.

When Jesus is asked, “So what laws should we follow?” His response was simple…

“Love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul and all your mind… Love your neighbor as yourself.” Matthew 22:37

This is so simple!

Love

Love

Love

It’s all you need.

I abandoned a few small art pieces that go along with this “God is Love” theme for others to find.

I’m sharing this experience of mine in hopes of inspiring other Christians to do the same. After walking the parade when we came to the Pacific Science Center they had booths set up like any other festival. There were some selling things and others giving things away for free… The scientologists had a booth as did the atheists, the satanists, the humanists, and others all had booths to spread their message… There was not a Christian booth… We were represented mainly by hatred filled people screaming and yelling, cursing the LGBTQ community to hell. This has got to change. Next year we should all go to show the love of Jesus.
Sure there are things that may or may not make you feel uncomfortable such as light drug use and heavy nudity… But should we let that stop us from ministering to this community and forming bonds with people who are not like ourselves in some ways? We are all the same in the end.
So I ask you this… Does it really matter who someone loves?
Personally I don’t condone casual sex because of my history and also other reasons. But there are seasons in everyone’s lives… Some people have seasons of casual sex, others have addictions and other afflictions. Everyone should feel comfortable going to Church, worshiping the Lord, and forming a personal relationship with Christ. Leave the rest up to God…

Gay people are people…

They have bodies

We all have hearts

Let’s try to use them

That would be a start

White, brown, black, blue

God loves you

No matter what you do

You cannot escape

The love of God

All encompassing

All inclusive

And gender neutral

Love is love

Is love

Is love

God is love

Another part of my mission was to share the brand, “if not for love.” This nonprofit started by Esther Little helps support refugees. For every t-shirt bought you also supply a shirt to a refugee. I passed out these stickers and a couple bags. If not for love.com

Thanks to everyone who helped make this Pride perfect! A special shout out to all the service men and women who made sure things stayed safe for everyone. We had so much fun. I look forward to doing more next year…Who knows maybe we can have a Christian based booth to help combat the enemy in the LGBTQ community?

Following Your Dream, Destiny and God’s Purpose for your life

Ask God for the answers and often times He will respond. The question is if you are ready to listen to Him. Trust not in your own understanding but in all things seek Him. Then if He tells you to do something you better get on it! He hasn’t given you passion and creative ideas to put them on a shelf in the closet. Like when Jesus is talking about putting the lamp out in the room to lighten you must also let your light shine.

God gave us His unconditional perfect agape love for us to then give it back to the world. If there is a way for you to reach out and touch even one life…

DO IT!!!

How do you figure out what God’s plan for your life is???

First look at those things which you are passionate about. Then feel the tugging at your heart strings. Don’t ignore your love and spend all your dwelling in negativity. Like so many people have told me over the years… DO WHAT YOU LOVE. That is God’s desire. His desire is for you to love, be loved, and spread love.

I’ve had to tell myself to stop doubting. Don’t wait for the booming voice or the full plan to be laid at your feet. That isn’t how God generally speaks. Instead listen to that little voice inside that says “yes” “you can” “let’s go this way” “I love you”

That is God.

God’s Purpose of Hardships and How to Combat Stress

Stress is like a virus that spreads from one person to the next. Like the flu when you worry and fret your energy is sapped, you grow weary and weak. When we freak ourselves out there is no benefit. We gain nothing from our stress yet each one of us does it to some extent or another.

I propose another option instead of putting yourself in the weakened position of being stressed out, perhaps instead, we pray. As humans we have very little control over the day to day of our own lives. God has all the answers to this it’s only a matter of listening. When we pray (or meditate) we quiet ourselves and seek outside our own minds and bodies for the answers. Generally when we stress there is an emphasis of self blame. We try to fix our issues ourselves but it is impossible.

Do not be anxious about anything. Instead give everything to God in prayer with thankfulness. Philippians 4:6

The Bible tells us not to chastise our selves needlessly. God made us; He understands our propensity to stress ourselves out. He knows us so well. Through His words given to us in The Bible the answers are given clearly. He wants the best for us. Because He loves us so deeply the provisions for relief have already been made.

So remember when life gets you down to talk to God. He can help you. He has all the answers and if you ask Him then perhaps He might tell you. Be kind to yourself. Let it go and let God handle it. Your Father in Heaven loves you so much, only wanting the best for your life. Follow Him, asking Him for help and you will feel better.

One last thing… God doesn’t give us more than we can handle. At least… He doesn’t give us more than we can handle WITH HIS HELP. We need Him. He uses hard times to show us this.

I believe that before we were born we lived with/within God and together with Him we chose our lives, our parents and the struggles we would encounter during our time on earth. In Heaven/within God everything is good, positive, and in some ways perhaps it is necessary for us to visit Earth so that we can experience contrast. If life on Earth was perfect it would be Heaven, we wouldn’t learn anything, and honestly I don’t see any purpose in that.

God has a purpose for everything. Even the worst events on the face of the planet are God’s will. There is goodness even in evil; we must look closely at the darkness to appreciate the light. So just remember that the next time you’re stressed, hurting, and facing the darkness.

Everything is for the Glory of God.

-Amen

Called to write

I have been writing a book. I decided a long time ago it was something I just had to do. I want to have no fear in writing. I’ll write from the heart about things I know are true. I’ll write about my experiences and I’ll pass it all on to the next generation. This is exhilarating!

I’m enjoying writing now more than I ever have before. I feel a sense of freedom whenever I let my thoughts out. By writing I feel as if it’s almost like I’m draining an old wound, and letting the infection out. The words are like puss seeping from the wound. As it leaves the body it cleanses it of impurity and heals me.

I am called to write and tell my story. I must eventually tell it from beginning to end. I must lay bare the details however ugly and painful they may be. I have heard the voice of God encouraging me. I feel peace as I continue on my personal journey.

Some people say I shouldn’t write, others say I need to write. While I find it interesting what people have to say. At this time I have no choice. I have been called to write.

So I must write and tell my story for all to hear. I will write in great detail as much as possible. I will try not to be too scattered or random. I must remember all of this will be heavily edited before ever becoming a book anyway.

If it was up to me I would use real names. I would expose people who are doing dark things in sneaky corners. But I’m sure that’s not allowed. They know who they are anyway and who am I to judge them or hold anything against anyone? I don’t. I am not the judge. God is.

They will all get their judgement when the day of judgment has arrived.

Spiritual Warfare

The battle between good and evil started at the beginning of time. Since humans have had knowledge and free will we have had the ability to choose between what is good and what is bad. We try to deny the truth but in our hearts we know when something is wrong.

God wants us to do good. He wants us to be the best we can be. To be healthy and kind, to have love in our lives, that is what it means to be close to God. He knows we are not perfect and we never could be. Don’t judge yourself for we have already been judged. We have all been found to be sinners. Imperfect. But we can try to be good.

God sent us Jesus as a way to the light. He knew we would fail alone so God sent his one and only son as a perfect gift to the world. The gift of salvation and the ability to concour death. Because Christ rose from the grave we will also be risen, into heaven and the presence of God. All you have to do is trust in that and believe.

We cannot be saved by our works alone. We need Jesus in our lives to do spiritual warfare on our behalf. Why? Because of the devil and his itty bitty little demons.

I saved this image from the Seattle Asian Art Museum yesterday to share the next time I wrote about demons. I really loved how this demon was depicted so small and in such a weak position.

Here is another image of this itty bitty little devil. The mask is about real life size to give you an idea of how small he really is. You could squash him under your shoe.

My husband told be just by saying, “I am covered in the blood of Jesus Christ!” Has the power to protect you from all evils. There is power in His name. Nothing can stop Him that comes from God. He will return one day and on that day we will rejoice. We Win!
